Pedro Diaz, CEO of the MHRI, came up with what I think is a brilliant analogy about workplace mental health, and one that sticks in my mind.
You might recall that miners used to carry a canary down into the coal mines to work. Being more sensitive, the canary could alert the miners to poisonous and flammable gases that the miners couldn’t detect.
It’s an interesting analogy for our workplaces. Let me ask you this: if the canary started looking unwell, do you think the miners said…
“Don’t worry, he’s faking it! ”
“He’s not pulling his weight, is he?”
No, they got the hell out of the mine!
What silent ‘toxic fumes’ might exist in your organisation, damaging mental health?
This anecdote makes up one of the emails in this 9 week course promotion campaign for Mental Health Essentials, a 1 day public workshop for people in workplaces.
There are 9 emails in the series, loaded into an Ontraport step sequence, designed to send every 7 days (except weekends).
With the recent upgrade from Sendpepper to Ontraport, we took advantage of the email builder to design a nice, clean email that pops, and is consistent with the MHRI’s authentic, warm and direct personality.
The emails are linking through to a landing page where people can book and pay for the Sydney or Melbourne courses, or they have the option of contacting the MHRI from the email via a mailto link and phone number.
This email campaign is complemented by a 9 week social media post campaign, sharing ‘essential tips’ on mental health at work.
